Project Description
In 2010 we were asked to write a proposal for ambulance-nursing training. Through a base-line survey we came to the conclusion that training the staff only on ambulance care was not viable because of the lack to gain enough experience. We advised to train the nursing staff multi-disciplinary. From rescue on the beach to intensive care we trained the staff as Emergency Medical Care nurses.
After a train the trainer program we started On Bonaire we provided 2 cycles of 4 modules and on Saba and Statia we provided 2 cycles of 3 modules to train the staff. Through yearly refresher modules and in between support of the local trainers we are able to keep the program sustainable.
