Project Description
Winneba Trauma hospital
MeduProf-S provided the training and support (technical assistance) in a project involving building and equipping a new hospital in Winneba, Ghana.
MeduProf-S assisted in the development of the staff, in order to provide superior quality and comprehensive medical services. MeduProf-S assisted to create a sustainable situation, specifically by training teachers to continue education of hospital staff during and after the project.
A baseline survey resulted in the following training programs:
- Administration and marketing services,
- Medical staff services,
- Hospital Maintenance services
The following courses were provided:
- Ultrasound for obstetrics, gynaecology and the abdomen
- X-ray
- Accident and emergency care nursing
- Pediatric nursing
- Obstetric and Gynecology nursing
- Accounting services and general staff support
- Maintenance services, purchasing and material management
- Hospital waste management and infection control
Train the trainers programs and some study visits were also included in the project. The program will continue for a period of 5 years started in November 2010 and ended in March 2015
