October 6 University Applied Medical Science in the third year of Problem Based Learning

From 28^th of March till April 4^th Marijke van Duuren, Fontys School of Nursing and Everard van Kemenade, MeduProf-S visited October 6 University as part of a quality improvement program for the University. Aim of this mission was to support staff and students of Applied Medical Sciences in using the methodology of Problem Based Learning (PBL). PBL is an educational method that uses real life cases out of the professions the students are studying for, to train them to find solutions. Besides knowledge of course, communication skills and teamwork are crucial for the learning process. Students in Egypt of today are very anxious to be involved in this way of education. Next year the first students will graduate that have completed this “Fontys-program”.
